I received a call from a journalist who is working on an article about how cuts to state courts have hurt small business, making it harder to resolve contract, creditor, and other disputes. In California, it now takes 5 years,up from 15 months just 3 years ago, to resolve a contract dispute in court.

He looking to speak with small business owners who have been affected by the reduction in services at state and local courts. He needs to speak directly with businessowners or managers who, say, have to pay exhorbitant filing fees or travel greater distances to a courthouse, or find that resolving what should be a simple dispute takes years because there aren't enough judges or court dates available.

His Deadline is Monday.

If you or someone you know has been having any of these issues and would like to provide a comment, please let me know.

Thank you -
