In his State of the Union Address, President Obama reaffirmed what American women know best: “When women succeed, America succeeds.”
From now until February 14, House Democrats are leading an online initiative, What Women Need for Valentine’s Day, to amplify the need for Congress to take action on its agenda, When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: An Economic Agenda for Women and Families. If you would like to join us, use your social media outlets to highlight what women really need.
Specifically, here is what you can do if you choose to participate:
1) Post a photo or video of yourself on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Vine, or YouTube holding this sign to share your story and highlight policies in the economic agenda (e.g. “Equal Pay,” “$10.10,” “Paid Sick Leave” or “Affordable Child Care”) using #WhatWomenNeed. [Here is a word document with the "What Women Need" valentine.]
2) Use your social media outlets to continue to share your story and thoughts on the key aspects of House Democrats' women’s economic agenda, including: equal pay, paid leave, increase in the minimum wage to $10.10, and affordable child care.
3) Go to www.facebook.com/StandUpForWomen to share your story.
Examples:

At the close of the online initiative on February 14, Leader Pelosi’s office will unveil a website that will feature our web posts, tweets, video, etc. – as well as those from women across the country.
Making your voice heard on these critical issues will help advance the needs of women and families.
Check out the website to learn more about the agenda and please contact Reva.Price@mail.house.gov if you have any questions.
